The Why

Why do I do voice over?

Right Livelihood is foundational to a worthwhile life, and it's different for everyone. For me it means two things; Creative Expression and Service.

Hey Look, mission statement!

I believe in both expressing one's authentic self with creative pursuits and providing service to make the world and one's self even a little bit better, and that it's not only OK, but best, to make one's living that way.

I do that by using my idiosyncratic life experiences and trained skills to relate to and amplify stories for people who benefit from having my voice speak for them.

The result is relationships built on friendly collaboration and professional attitude, making your vision come to life with sharp audio and emotional connection between you and your audience.

How does that  help *you*?

If you're at this website, it's a safe bet you're looking for voice over that is fast, good, and reasonably priced. Lots of people can do that. I absolutely do that. What you'll also get though is the unique sum total of years of acting, a Bachelor of Science, blue-collar work, teaching experience and also natural creativity, coolness, quirk. As a free bonus you'll also get benefit of my tough times, victories, and sometimes strange experiences. Very little I've experienced is unique, but you will find no one bringing this combination to your script.

You'll want to work with someone who's not only right for the job, but  enjoyable. Easy to work with. Dependable. Relatable not just to your audience, but to you. Someone who makes the project go as smoothly as possible. â€‹

I'll be bringing not only my core beliefs, but also life experience, training and professionalism to make your project *exactly* what you want it to be. I'll be happy to be there, and naturally make interactions as pleasant and as smooth as possible, because we enjoy that as human beings and it just gets the job done better. If our relationship is for one project or a whole career, it's important that you made a great choice working with me.

As corny as it sounds, I really do enjoy being of service. It's part of every job I have ever enjoyed. Service to me isn't a self-abnegating thing: just the opposite. It's a true connection with other people where we express our needs, and build trust that they will be fulfilled. It's a chance for growth and evolution.

I also am simply driven to MAKE things. Few things make me happier than being able to say "look what I made" and know that it's *good*. It's even better to be able to say "Look what I made you" and having the person say "I love it. It's just right". Whether it's crochet, or paper mache, or movie reviews, I'm happy. But *voice over* is what brings my creative need back around to service.

We spend so much time at work that it's vital to a well-lived life to make it rewarding as well as bill-paying. For me, making voice over my business was a no-brainer.

I hope your decision to work with me is just as natural a choice.
